Really proud of my black shading now, I’ve been using less water and I feel like the gradients are way more nicer now then before when I was jamming water onto the page.

Added fangs to the flying skull and tried using some different colors in different places, I’ve been looking at a lot of Paul Doblemans flash and I really like the way how loose everything is but has a purpose and I’m going to really try using those ideas in my next sheet.

During the the process of this painting I was not the biggest fan of how it was turning out, a lot of tiny things were bothering me that I felt could have been better. But as I kept going through the process towards the end of this sheet I found I really like the way it turned out.

Color study

In the past few days I’ve really learned just how much a little water and a little paint can change a whole page. Especially on the color wheel, focusing on the give and take of just a little green and a little yellow can turn out to drastically change the color you are mixing. I’ve enjoyed this process because it showed me that if you take more time, even a few seconds the way the shading and colors turn out can really make or break everything.
